Verifying Contacts#
To verify with another contact who has setup Contact Key Verification you can do so in two ways:
- Public Key Your public key is a series of letter, numbers, and symbols which are safe to share with others and verify your identity. You, and your contact, can exchange public keys and add them to the “verification code” field of each other’s contact.
- On-device From a conversation in iMessages tap on the conversation name and scroll to the bottom, from there you can see that status of Contact Key Verification and set it up using onscreen codes.
