- Download the creator executable and
*.wim
files, these files are no longer hosted by Microsoft so you’ll need to enable the “Show Archived” option to get a link from the Wayback Machine. - Download and install Imgburn.
- Execute the
.exe
file that you downloaded, it will create a new directory (calledVista
) and the Windows Installer will start. Close the installer. - Launch Imgburn and select the option to build an image from the files on your computer.
- Browse to the
Vista
directory that the creator made earlier. - Select “Advanced” and configure the ISO file:
- Check the option to “Make Image Bootable.”
- Set the “Developer ID” to
Microsoft Corporation
. - Set the load segment to
07C0
. - Set the number of segments to load to
4
. - Select the
boot\etfsboot
file as the boot loader.
- Build and save your
.iso
file[1].
