It’s a cool early spring morning, there’s still some snow up on the mountains and the usual hiking group is feeling ready to get back out there. Taking the subpar windy roads past Yacolt, WA and through a forest which only lets the sun through the van’s windows in bursts leads you to a lonely parking space on the side of the road where you’ll enviably embark on your expedition. It’s a nostalgic, yet all to current, experience for all hiking groups.
